Program turnira

Tradicionalni, 25. međunarodni šahovski turnir pet gradova "Alpe-Dunav-Jadran" održao se od 14. do 16. rujna 2012. godine u Zagrebu. Turnir je okupio igrače iz pet gradova regije "Alpe-Jadran": Balatonalmadi (Mađarska), Wolfsberg (Austrija), Pordenone (Italija), Celje i Šentjur (Slovenija) i Zagreba (Hrvatska).

Ovaj tradicionalan turnir okuplja amaterske šahiste iz susjednih zemalja regije još od 1985. godine, kada je prvi turnir održan u Wolfsbergu (Austrija). Svake godine turnir se igra u drugom gradu.

Ove godine turnir je održan u zagrebačkom hotelu "Porin" u organizaciji šahovskog kluba "Ericsson Nikola Tesla", pod pokroviteljstvom skupštine Grada Zagreba i Radne zajednice "Alpe-Jadran". Turnir je otvorio predsjednik Gradske skupštine Grada Zagreba, gospodin Davor Bernardić.

Svaki grad predstavljaju dva tima sačinjena od po 4 igrača. Ostvareni rezultati oba tima se u konačnici zbrajaju i daju ukupan rezultat. Tempo igre je 15 minuta po igraču, za cijelu partiju.

Uvjerljivi pobjednik turnira je ekipa Balatonalmadija (Mađarska) sa ukupno 26 meč bodova, 8 bodova ispred drugoplasirane momčadi Wolfsberga (Austrija). Slovenski tim sastavljen od igrača iz gradova Celja i Šentjura zauzeo je treće mjesto, sa 15 meč bodova. Domaćin, ekipa Zagreba iz šahovskog kluba "Ericsson Nikola Tesla" osvojila je četvrto mjesto sa 11 meč bodova, dok je ekipa Pordenonea (Italija) bila posljednja sa 10 meč bodova.

Cijeli turnir je protekao u natjecateljskom, ali nadasve prijateljskom duhu. U pauzi između dva dijela natjecanja organiziran je i izlet u centar Zagreba, gdje su natjecatelji obišli najznačajnije zagrebačke znamenitosti.

Slijedeće godine turnir pet gradova "Alpe-Dunav-Jadran" igra se u Balatonalmadiju (Mađarska).

The 25th chess tournament of the five cities "Alps – Danube – Adriatic" took place in Zagreb, September 14-16, 2012. It brought players from 5 cities and countries: Balatonalmadi (Hungary), Wolfsberg (Austria), Pordenone (Italy), Celje and Šentjur (Slovenia) and Zagreb (Croatia).

This traditional competition has connected amateur chess players from neighboring countries since 1985, when the first tournament was held in Wolfsberg. Each year the tournament was played in other city.

This year's tournament was organized in the hotel "Porin" in Zagreb by chess club "Ericsson Nikola Tesla" under patronage of the Zagreb City Council and the working community "Alps – Adriatic". President of the Zagreb City Council, Mr. Davor Bernardić opened the tournament.

Each city was represented by two teams of four players, whose points are added up. Playing time was 15 minutes per player.

Convincing winner was the team from Balatonalmadi with 26 match points, 8 points ahead of Wolfsberg, which finished second. Slovenian team combined of players from Celje and Šentjur took the third place, collecting 15 match points. The home team "Ericsson Nikola Tesla" from Zagreb took the fourth place with 11 match points and the team from Pordenone finished fifth with 10 match points.

The whole event was marked by competitive, but friendly atmosphere. During the break between playing sessions the tournament participants visited the center of Zagreb and its main sights.

Next year's tournament "Alps – Danube – Adriatic" will be played in Balatonalmadi, Hungary.
